Happy Birthday Kennedy!!

We are so proud of you!
This morning, you insisted I sing happy birthday to you while I fixed your hair. Then I overheard your sister singing it to you, and your urging.

You are so special!
You were born five days before you were expected-which was quite a pleasant suprise for me, considering your sister was three days late. Ever since, you have been a go-getter. And that was the first night you slept in our bed....you, me, and dad all slept together in the hospital bed. At some point during every night of your life (unless you spent the night with grandparents), you end up in our bed! You have a personality that is bigger than you are, and you light up a room when you walk in. You touch the hearts of everyone that knows you.
I hope you have a great day and can't wait to celebrate with you tonight!

Goodnight, Midnight.

Our last rabbit went to heaven sometime Sunday to Monday. Thankful Kamryn was not the one to discover this, as she is my sensitive one. Kennedy goes out to feed Midnight and learns that she is deceased. She proceeds to remove him from the cage and put him on the front porch. She comes in and says, "Momma. Midnight is dead. And his eyes feel weird."
Me...."You touched it? You touched its eyeballs??? GO WASH YOUR HANDS." Then Brian comes home and says, "Why is the rabbit dead and why is it on the front porch?"
Kennedy replies, "Daddy I wanted you to see."

After school craft

I enjoyed being home with the girls, thanks to President's Day. They made these sweet little necklaces.....I love to practice on the girls to see what crafts we'll do in Sunday school...

Cabbage Casserole

Not looking so promising yet.....

Yum! Cabbage never looked so good!

Chicken Enchilladas

What do you think this will be?

Ta-Da!!!! Looks fabulous, huh? It was delicious.

Kennedy's haircut...

OH. I dreaded this day. She has wanted a haircut for so long, we finally did it.
"After" picture to follow. Just imagine Gwenyth Palthow, but as a five year old.

Before

More snow day...

People of Walmart

I'm going to start taking "People of Wal-Mart" pictures. This is my first. What do you think?

Snow day!!!

7 inches of snow!!! WooHooo!!! We had so much fun-even without electricity!

I guess children are born knowing how to make a snow angel. Everytime we turned around, Kennedy was either making a snow angel or tackling her sister. Brian and I both stayed home from work (no electricity all night either aiding in that decision) and we played in the snow with the girls. We all had a blast.

Snow day was followed by snow night spent at K & J's for Walker's birthday!! What a great birthday day he had!! he is the only person I've have ever known to get 7 in. of snow for his birthday!!

That man died.

The other night Ken wasn't feeling well, so I was rocking her in the recliner. Out of the blue, she said, "Momma, Abraham Lincoln died." I said, "What?" She replied, "You know, that man on that penney. He died." Brian said, "Did he die today?" She said, "I don't know. We didn't learn that. But he's dead."

Bottlecaps

We are in charge of a Valentine's day party Sunday morning, so I have been experimenting with craft ideas. The girls like this one pretty well.

St. Joseph part ll

Meet our St. Joseph. He arrived yesterday and I was a little suprised to find that he was in a rather small envelope. Notice the size he is....
Nevertheless, St. Joseph is now buried head first facing our house, three feet from the back door.

Jaidan in scrubs

Isn't she a doll?! She ALWAYS has a bow in her head....her mom makes them--in bulk. I just love this picture.

Jaidan update

I realize there are only like 2 people that read this blog....but to the two of you....
Please continue to pray for Jaidan. Her tumor has grown by one-third since 7 days ago, therefore tonight, they are starting the more agressive chemo. Please pray for her little body to continue to be strong enough to handle everything going on inside it and please continue to pray for the family that is beside themself with worry.

6 months pregnant.

No, I'm really not, but ate so much over the weekend, I look and feel like I am.
BT says he looks like the guitarist from the Who with his belly dangling through his shirt. This will be a week of more working out than usual and no tasty food. Cheers.

Ray-Ray

OK. So Jaidan had good news, but I learned of someone else that breaks my heart.
There is a little boy that stays down the hall from Jaidan at Children's Hospital. He is a 5 year old little black child and is a transplant survivor, like Jaidan. His mother left him. He is all alone. Living in a hospital. He has no one.
I am devastated for Ray-Ray.
I am considering kiddnapping him. Stay tuned...

Jaidan update

Good news!
The cancer is isolated to just the one spot in her neck...Praise The Lord!!!
She starts chemo this evening!!! Keep praying!!!!!!

Luminate!

We've seen them in concert once, their poster hangs in Kam's room, and their CD plays in my car.....
We can't wait to go see them again tonight!!!

Highland Park Baptist Church, Kilgore!
Check them out on Myspace. They are amazing.

St. Joseph: Post 1

According to my dear brother-in-love, if we want to sell our house, we must bury St. Joseph in the yard.
Well, I am willing to try anything. I ordered one from E-bay. $5.64 +free shipping. I will post more when I receive him, and throughout the process.....
I did google this myth, and it turns out thousands of people believe in this, and it is even marketed as a house-selling tool.
It doesn't hurt to try. What do I have to lose?

Tenna-Shu

Poor Ken has a cough again....and a runny nose. I am going to start breathing treatments again just to be safe. She has been taking "tenna-shu" to school with her. Yes, that's TISSUE. I love how she calls it "tenna-shu" and she is so serious...very dramatic. For some reason she says there is no "Tenna-shu" in her class, even though each student was required to bring two boxes each as one of their supplies. Hum. Always seems to work that way.

Jaidan

This news breaks my heart. Jaidan is all of two years old, has survived a liver transplant, now has been diagnosed with PTLD (Post-transplant lymphoma-something disorder). Yes, cancer. Today she will be going thru a new battery of tests to determine the stage and what treatment plan to go with. Yesterday Sandy said chemo would last about 4 months, but today they will try to determine if it is contained to her neck, or if it has spread into her bones. Would you beleive this child has been sick her entire little life and has never thrown up, and has never fought taking her medicine? I couldn't imagine what Jaime, her mom, must be going through. I can't fathom how it must feel to have a sick child that you can't fix with Tylenol or Mucinex. Jaime is so strong. And Jaidan---is just Jaidan.
You can follow them on facebook- Jaime Steele, and join Jaidan's Prayers.

Sign Language

Last night in the hot tub, Kennedy proceeded to teach us sign language. In addition to the entire alphabet, she knows many words. Then Kamryn started it, too. Kam said Ken taught her. She spelled her name, and many other words for us. Wow. Ken is excited to learn more and even asked for sign language learning DVDs for her birthday, so Google, here I come. She also wants to do silent praise at church, but I still think she is a little young for that. They rehearse a lot.

Ken reading, Kam's twinkle toes pictures. Curious? See posts below...

Kennedy the Scholar

Both my girls like to read. I never have, but am grateful they do! Kennedy reads constantly. I love this picture below becuase she looks so little in our big bed, and becuase she is reading the story of Three Trees that I read to my Sunday school class. Thank you, Sandy for such a great book! (picture to come by end of day)

Showing a pig in Twinkle Toes

Kam had her first 4-H meeting last night! B said she was too nervous to speak, but she looked hot in her Twinkle Toes and rock star shirt. I wonder if she plans on showing the pig (a.k.a Jimmy, Jr.) in that outfit? (pics will be posted later today)

No sheep left behind.

In our Sunday school class this past Sunday, B read a story about how a shepherd (Jesus) never leaves his sheep (us) behind and never forgets about them (us). Some how the discussion turned to hunting, coyotes in the woods, cold, dark, and rainy weather, how sheep aren't smart, etc. 4 year olds think of everything....
Anyway, one of our girls, a very precious little girl that refers to herself as "Me" said, "Me's dad was hunting, but the police was hunting for him, and caught him, becuase him didn't have a license." We love her. She is a doll. They tell us something hysterical every week, so I will be documenting it here, so I don't forget how funny they are.

Hot Tub conversation...

Thanks to Krystal & Jason, we have a fabulous hottub to relax in every night.
The girls have started looking forward to it as much as we have. That is our "visit and talk" time as a family.
Last night Ken was looking at the stars and said. "That star is beeping. Like the heart that lives in my neck, it's beeping."
Kam replied, "If it's beeping, it's probably an airplane."
Kam likes to talk about what the next cows will be named. Right now we have Rocky, Maddie, Monique, and Penelope. We like Dominique, and my favs are Rose, Blance, Dorothy, and Sofia. Of course. After my favorite show!
We'll see.
