Old Testament

My Old Testament class is so hard. I decided to post some cartoons about it to make studying a little more fun.

Just for you, Will

We did our usual Saturday morning workout routine this weekend and got to take Will!! He may never come see us again, but we had a great time.

Will, in case you forget, I have posted the paper plate excercise that I think was your fav. Come back anytime. Next Saturday we'll do turbo kickboxing then power hour! You are welcome to join us!!

Red and Yellow kill a fellow....

Monday evening (between rain storms) we took the girls for a walk. They love to explore.....they picked up pine cones and acorns, compared them with each others, and talked nonstop. On the way back, we saw a coral snake trying to climb a tree. Of course I didn't have my camera...so found this picture. Kamryn just asked a few minutes earlier if it is too cold for snakes now, and B and I both said no. The girls had never seen this kind of snake and aren't afraid of anything. We stood there watching it from just a couple feet away until Brian decided to try and catch it, scaring it away.

There is a little saying that goes "Red and yellow kill a fellow, red and black, friend of Jack." I don't know who Jack is, I'm just saying....
If the red and yellow colors of the snake are not separated by black, then he is highly poisonous. If black is between the red and yellow, it isn't even a coral snake, therefore is not harmful at all. Just in case you ever wondered that....

Here's what he looked like-but he was prettier in real life. His colors were vibrant and distinct. The girls and I thought he was beautiful!

Noah's Ark

What we learned from Noah's Ark:

1. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah was building the Ark.
2. Stay fit. When you are 600 years old, someone might ask you to do something really big.
3. Do not listen to critics. Do what has to be done.
4. Build on high ground.
5. Travel in pairs.
6. Two heads are better than one.
7. Speed is not always an advantage. The cheetahs were on board, but so were the snails.
8. If you cannot fight or flee, float.
9. Don't forget that we are all on the same boat.
10. Remember that the ark was built by amateurs, yet the Titanic as built by professionals.
11. Remember that the woodpeckers INSIDE are often a bigger threat than the storm OUTSIDE.
12. Do not miss the boat.
13. No matter how bleak it looks, if God is with you, there is always a rainbow on the other side.

Kennedy.....what to say, what to say...

Ken got in trouble at school for the first time. She kissed a little boy on the playground then lied about it to her teacher. If that wasn't bad enough, she disposed of the note her teacher send home to inform us of the little scandal. She trashed it at her grandparent's house before coming home that day....

So it all came to light when her teacher called me at work yesterday.....how humiliating. So after her dad took care of the situation last night, I tucked her in and told her that when she said her prayers, she needed to ask God to forgive her for kissing a boy, lying about it, and trying to hide the evidence.

I eavesdropped on her prayer. It went like this:

"God, it's me, Kennedy. PLEASE help me stop wanting to kiss boys and please keep Mrs. Cooper from calling my dad and mommy about it. Amen."
