Many of you know that Otis, our beloved Emu, ran away. He was impossible to catch, so we let him go. B and I have been certain all this time that he is alive and well, considering this species can live off anything from grass to caterpillars, and every other type of animal is afraid of him, therefore he could never be anything else's prey.
Sure enough, Pop, Sissy, and our girls saw him! He was standing on the side of the road between their house and ours (we live about 3 miles apart) and supposedly looks happy and healthy. I just feel bad he's all alone. Maybe we should buy another one to turn loose with him.
