Hectic schedules and grilled chicken

Thanks to being overbooked, as usual, Kamryn had to stay home alone for 20 minutes yesterday. (This happened once last week as well.) When I got home, she was quietly sitting at the kitchen table doing her homework. I walked through the living room and stopped. "What happened here? The living room looks cleaner than it did this morning." She had cleaned it. Without even being asked to. It was a proud moment for me. I proceeded to grill chicken, then take her to practice. When we got back, she decided to read her library book on the back porch to the dog and a stuffed horse while laying in a lounge chair. Whatever it takes to get her to read, I'm all for.
